Marcy Green Park
Spread across three blocks, Marcy Green Park borders the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Formerly, the park contained benches, fences, and patches of lawn. The community envisioned Marcy Green South as a large synthetic turf dog run with underground stormwater detention system. Marcy Green Center now contains tables for dominoes, two ping-pong tables, large natural stones, and ample seating. Marcy Green South contains an in-ground water feature with jets of water arcing for adults to use as a drinking fountain, cool off on a hot day, or just enjoy from one of the many benches in the plaza.

Almost immediately after ribbon cutting, volunteers began to clean the dog run twice a day, and now Friends of Marcy Green have planted and maintained the gardens, connected with other Friends of... groups and have rotating volunteer days, collaborate with local businesses for material support, and still clean the dog run twice a day.
